I’d like to invite you to join City Council President Zeke Cohen and Allendale Members and Residents for a very important event. Please see the invite below from Council President Cohen’s Office, and respond accordingly.
On behalf of City Council President Cohen, I am reaching out to invite you to a community outreach event in the Allendale Community to fight BGE’s requested $156 million electric distribution rate hike. If approved, this rate hike would increase the average customer’s bill by over $100 per year.
On Saturday, October 3, at 1 pm, we will knock on doors and ask residents to sign this petition opposing BGE’s request. The Public Service Commission, BGE’s regulator, cited a previous petition campaign organized by the City Council in denying much of a previous BGE rate request. We are looking to collect even more signatures than we did last time. Please arrive before 1pm to allow proper time for assembly.
We’ll hold a brief press conference at the start of the event, then split up and knock on doors in small groups.
We will provide water and snacks, and restrooms will be available.
