ACA news

Greetings Members, Partners, Associates, and Friends!

Spring is in the air!

Thank you members and agency officials who attended the ACA Monthly Meeting last Friday! Thanks especially to Councilman Gray for attending and sharing the latest events going on in City Hall and Annapolis, given the political climate we’re experiencing from the White House to the MD State House. We appreciated the information and clarifications of bills presented, and will decide going forward how our community can get involved. Members shared issues and concerns within the community, and both the SW District Police and Councilman Gray responded. There is so much happening in our communities across Baltimore! Let’s keep praying for our neighbors and friends!

ACA Membership Renewals are due now! Yearly subscription is $20. We are accepting new members as well. Cash, Check & Cash App: $1952ACAPAY. Make checks payable to Allendale Community Association. All Cash App payments are through Treasurer Haki Ammi. Contact him for any questions you may have at hakiammi@gmail.com. All dues are to pay for expenses incurred by the ACA, including website maintenance, special events, meetings and more. Membership dues are important and the financial gateway to operate the Association! All are welcome to join!

Monday, March 10th, the Southwest Roundtable members and residents met with City Council President Zeke Cohen to discuss issues and concerns regarding the SW neighborhoods along and nearby the Edmondson Avenue Corridor, including our beloved Gwynns Falls Leakin Park, and the Edmondson Village Shopping Center. A full two hours of his undivided attention was very much needed and appreciated by all! He began the meeting speaking of the Council’s efforts going forward given the political climate we are facing as Baltimoreans. He then opened the floor for everyone to introduce themselves with a small mention of information as to our main focus of work for our community. He offered suggestions for us moving forward and to come up with a master plan to include what we need in our communities. Waiting for us was a scrumptious meal: Lasagne, Salad, Beverages, and Dessert. What a welcoming surprise! Thank you President Cohen for your time, and a Huge Thanks and Kudos goes to President Javon Burden (Hunting Ridge Association) and Judge Wanda Heard for spearheading this meeting! They will share more news going forward, and I will share with you as well.

Below is information I’m sharing with you from BCDOT and the Mayor’s Office. I cut and pasted info from their email messages to ensure that information is shared correctly. Please see the attached flyers and share with your neighbors.
