I am not in the best of moods lately, especially since hearing of the death of a 6 year old child found shot dead last Saturday afternoon! I’m a little late sending this message, so please bear with me as there may have been updates presented by now.

 

Master Micah Comegys has been identified as the 6 year old child found shot dead at a home on Vine St., in Baltimore’s Poppleton Community last Saturday afternoon May 3rd. He was a kindergarten student at Mary E. Rodman Elementary School. I contacted the school principal, Ms. Goodwin to offer my condolences and prayers for the family and for the students at MERES. The SW District Police were called immediately to respond to the home after residents heard gunshots going off nearby. Although the police arrived immediately, young Micah did not survive the shooting. Police are actively investigating. I’m sure they will share details once completed, if not already. 

 

 

I have a lot of things to say about this incident, and I’m sure that you do too, but there are some serious issues with guns being found that may not be secured efficiently, or are left in complete open view for anyone to get access to. There may be other issues regarding this incident. I believe that no parent wants to experience this tragic incident of a deceased loved one! I would surely be devastated!! Please join me in offering our condolences and prayers to Micah’s family and schoolmates. If there are any updates, I will share them with you.
